Texas State MSEC students receive training in Project Management In Fall 2017, five students completed the course MSEC 7325 “Principles of Technical Project Management” which trained the students in important and relevant project management skills. The one semester course is designed for Ph.D. students within the Texas State University Materials Science, Engineering, and Commercialization (MSEC) Program. The course objectives are to equip students with the theory, application, and tools of technical project management to effectively organize, lead, and manage complex technical projects and prepare students to become certified project managers. Within the course, students completed 35 hours of project management education and are now eligible for the exam to become a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). This is the first time Texas State MSEC students have received training to become certified project managers. Congratulations to our students! Pictured (left to right): Dr. Darold Barb (Class Advisor, Guest Lecturer), Dr. Christopher Rhodes (MSEC 7325 Instructor), Fei Sun (MSEC Student), Cassie Deardorff (M.S. Chemistry Student), Joyce Anderson (MSEC Student), Eric Welch (MSEC Student), Jacob Armitage (MSEC Student), Dr. Jennifer Irvin (Director, MSEC Program).
